It has been really exciting to follow the evolution of US producer Sharp Veins‘ productions over the last year. In that time, the producer – who you may know as William Skeng – has refined a natural melodic talent and willingness to experiment with the more abstract peripheries of electronic music into a slew of fiercely original tracks that sound like little else out there. Having only just dropped his first official release a matter of days ago via new Nottingham imprint Special Stage Audio, he is already starting to garner a significant amount of well-deserved attention.
Having launched the vinyl-only Sector 7 Sounds label with their own ‘Catch A Body’ / ‘Banshee’ single last year, Bristol duo Boofy and Lemzly Dale are bringing Impey in to the fold for their second release, ‘Bangclap’ / ’4titude’.
This Thursday, GET SOME is launching a new night upstairs at Old Blue Last as a platform to showcase the collective’s take on underground club music. As well as sets from the full roster, you can expect a selection of guests slots from extended friends and family at each event.

This week Dutch producer Ghost Kwini has dropped his debut EP on the consistently on-point and never predictable blog-turned-label Sonic Router. The four-track ‘Dark Address’ EP is a compelling introduction to the prolific artist that succinctly articulates the depth and imagination of his music. Having watched his progress carefully over the last twelve months, the release of the EP seemed like the perfect time to tap him up for a quick chat and the latest contribution to our mix series.

Following the release of their stellar South African-influenced sophomore album ‘Sebenza’ on Hyperdub in 2012, LV are making a return to Blackdown’s Keysound Recordings label for their new single. Working with MC Josh Idehen for the first time since the release of their criminally underrated debut album ‘Routes’, ‘Imminent’ precedes their forthcoming third album, which is due out later this year.

My pick of this week’s mixes comes from Berlin-based artist She’s Drunk, who has dropped a new mixtape for DIS Magazine. Entitled ‘Materials’, the mix features a host of new and unheard material from the producer, who, we are very happy to announce, will release his next EP on Liminal Sounds.
